Polly Ngale
Polly Ngale is one of the most senior custodians of her country Alparra, in the heart of Utopia. She is a member of the oldest living generation of Utopia women and her artistic career began in the late 1970s when she learned the craft of batik making. Polly is considered one of the most accomplished painters from the Utopia region and is inspired by the Arnwetky - a green tangled, spiny shrub that produces fragrant white flowers and fruit. The fruits resembles a plum which she often refers to in English as a 'bush plum'. Learn more about Polly in her bio.
